As a result of the Food Safety & Standards Act of 2006, which sought to raise standards for food cleanliness and quality, the food production and distribution sectors have seen dramatic shifts. Location- and time-limited, the FSSAI Registration or License is only valid within its jurisdiction.
In order to control the production, storage, and distribution of edible goods and guarantee that people have access to healthy options, the Indian government requires all businesses involved in the food industry to register.
It can be used by any type of small company.
Types of FSSAI License:
State FSSAI Licenses and Central FSSAI Licenses are available from FSSAI, with the distinction between the two being made on the basis of the size and type of the firm.
If a food business operator’s annual revenue is higher than INR 12 lakhs, they must obtain a state FSSAI license.
