IOC sets deadline of ‘early 2025’ to keep boxing in the Olympics for Los Angeles with a new partner

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is seeking a new international boxing body by early next year to ensure boxing remains in the Olympics for the Los Angeles Games in 2028. The IOC stripped the International Boxing Association (IBA) of its right to run the Olympic boxing tournaments due to governance and integrity concerns. The Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld the IOC’s decision, effectively removing the IBA from the Olympic movement. The IOC is calling on national boxing bodies and Olympic committees to help establish a new governing body for boxing.
