10 Aug Stock Market Sectors: Stock market update: Power stocks up as market falls
JSW Energy(up 7.10%), Alstom T&D India(up 4.99%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 4.99%), Suzlon Energy(up 4.87%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 4.79%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 2.03%), Hitachi Energy India(up 1.80%), Adani Power(up 1.71%), Torrent Power(up 1.43%) and Orient Green Power Company(up 1.37%) stood among the top gainers.
Reliance Power(down 4.11%), Indowind Energy(down 3.13%), Inox wind(down 3.08%), Inox Wind Energy(down 2.50%), RTNPOWER(down 2.04%), NLC India(down 1.81%), GE Power India Limited(down 1.18%), Karma Energy(down 0.68%), NTPC(down 0.59%) and Gujarat Industries Power(down 0.46%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 89.45 points down at 19543.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 307.63 points at 65688.18.
Adani Enterprises(up 1.81%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.54%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.48%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.1%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.99%), JSW Steel(up 0.98%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.69%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.64%), Tech Mahindra(up 0.64%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.6%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Asian Paints(down 2.79%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.67%), ITC(down 1.5%), Britannia Industries(down 1.31%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 1.18%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.12%), SBI Life(down 1.11%), Axis Bank(down 1.08%), Nestle India(down 1.03%) and Bharti Airtel(down 1.01%) closed in the red.
